I use contact paper, carpet, linoleum, and mattress padding to define interior space as well as beds, cups and everyday objects to reference the self. I manipulate these found materials to distance them physically from their original function. My work disrupts concepts of normalcy and routine by using commonplace objects that become memorials for an absent individual. I create sculptures and environments that reference the domestic and everyday. These works inform us of our own presence while also restructuring an already existing relationship to familiar objects.
